Women have quietly infiltrated sports (maybe not so quietly) and are still struggling for equivalent pay and endorsements. And while women’s sports are becoming more mainstream (have you SEEN the amazing women athletes in International Rugby????) – we are just recently starting to see the advent of places to congregate and watch the sports.
Womens Sports Bars are an up and coming thing! I point you to the article by Danny Jensen in The Hustle (Hubspot Media) “A bar of their own: Why women’s sports bars are popping up everywhere” https://thehustle.co/news/a-bar-of-their-own-why-womens-sports-bars-are-popping-up-everywhere .
And to the article in Women’s Health last year by Molly Yanity “Definitive Guide to Every Women’s Sports Bar in America” https://www.womenshealthmag.com/life/a64843264/womens-sports-bars/?utm_source=social&utm_medium=copy&utm_campaign=action_bar .
These sports bars are a long time coming and help to make women’s sports more mainstream while providing a sense of community for enthusiasts and a wonderful entrepreneurial opportunity, too.
Have you been to a women’s sports bar? Did you enjoy it? How does it differ from any other sports bar from your experience?
Please share your experiences in the comments.
